Spurs enjoyed a famous victory on Thursday after beating Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1 on aggregate in the Europa League quarter-finals. They performed brilliantly and deserved to go through to semi-finals of the competition, where Ange Postecoglou’s side will face Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt.

Hugo Larsson was a part of the Eintracht Frankfurt that faced the Lilywhites in two legs. He played over 160 minutes across the two legs and impressed. The Swedish midfielder is now reportedly open to joining Tottenham if they table a bid this summer. As a result, Tottenham are increasingly confident that they will be able to convince him if they accelerate their pursuit as it is believed the 20-year-old has an interest in testing himself in the Premier League if he decides to leave Frankfurt.

Larsson joined Frankfurt from Swedish side Malmo FF in the summer of 2023, and he has since been a key player for the Bundesliga outfit. He has racked up over 80 appearances, netting eight goals. And after two promising seasons with the Eagles, the youngster is planning to fulfil his dream of playing in the Premier League.

Tottenham keen on signing Hugo Larsson

Tottenham chiefs have a lot of decisions to make during the summer transfer window. A few of their players are entering the final year of their contracts. Yves Bissouma and Rodrigo Bentancur are two of those.

Spurs are in talks with Bentancur over a new deal as they view him key to their project at N17. However, with regards to Bissouma, they are open to cashing him in after the Mali international has failed to live up to the expectations since arriving from Brighton in 2022. So, the club chiefs will be keen to sign an upgrade on Bissouma, and Larsson would represent that.

Larsson is one of the most talented young midfielders in the Bundesliga, and he has made a name for himself with exciting displays for Frankfurt. He is a complete midfielder at just 20 years of age, which is quite scary, with several clubs from Europe vying for his signature.

The Swede is waiting to see if Ange’s Spurs win the Europa League after knocking his side out of the competition. It is thought that winning the Europa League would put the North Londoners in a commanding position to secure his signature. But, either way, Levy will have to splash the cash as Frankfurt want at least £52 million to part ways with Larsson this summer.
