Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze open to Tottenham move

Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze is ready to join Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.

Eberechi Eze

The England international, 26, joined Crystal Palace from Queens Park Rangers back in 2020 and has been a mainstay in the side under different managers. He has gone from strength to strength at Selhurst Park in the last couple of seasons and interest from top clubs in his services would be normal in the summer transfer window.

Having seen the likes of Michael Olise and Joachim Andersen depart Palace last summer, Eberechi Eze could be on his way out of the club soon—perhaps even this summer. Tottenham have reportedly become the most interested side in securing Eze’s signature, with the creative midfielder open to move to White Hart Lane as he wishes to stay in London.

While Spurs are understood to be leading the race for the 26-year-old, his £68 million release clause could be too high for Daniel Levy to pay.

Eberechi Eze open to Tottenham switch

According to ex-Spurs scout Bryan King, Eze would be open to a move to Tottenham.

“Eze is a player with good quality,” Bryan King stated.

“However, he seems to be a very similar player to James Maddison. I do think Eze would be interested in a move to Tottenham because Crystal Palace are a mid-table Premier League club

He’s got himself in the England setup, and he is a very interesting player. Whether he is better than Maddison I’m not sure, but he is certainly in that bracket. I’m not surprised that Spurs are interested in him because he is a Tottenham-type player.

A contract offer would certainly interest Eze and his representatives. However, I think he will need some guarantees that things are going to improve at Tottenham, on the pitch.”

Despite a stop-start 2024/25 campaign, Eze has six goals and seven assists in 28 games for Palace. He is one of the Premier League’s most exciting talents and is expected to be a sought-after commodity when the transfer window reopens.

With a further two years left on his contract, the Eagles would want any suitor to pay the 26-year-old’s full release clause. Spurs are understood to be hesitant at the moment, but if Ange Postecoglou expresses his desire to get the player, there is a chance Daniel Levy loosens his purse strings and brings Eze to North London.

And the Palace star being open to Spurs switch is a massive advantage for Levy and Postecoglou.
