Tottenham Hotspur monitoring FC Copenhagen wonderkid Roony Bardghji

Tottenham Hotspur are among several European clubs keeping tabs on FC Copenhagen wonderkid Roony Bardghji ahead of a possible summer swoop.
Spurs’ London rivals Chelsea are showing the strongest interest in the player, while the likes of Aston Villa, Manchester United, Manchester City Newcastle United, and Brighton and Hove Albion are all very much in the queue for his signature.
Having come up the youth ranks at FC Copenhagen, Roony Bardghji got promoted to the first team back in 2022 and has grown leaps and bounds since then. Dubbed “the Swedish Messi” due to his diminutive frame, playing style, technique and flair, the winger was making waves in Europe before suffering a cruciate ligament tear last summer.
He has not played a single minute this season, though, the youngster has recently resumed training. Yet, Tottenham reportedly want to add Bardghji to their squad ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
Tottenham planning to offload experienced trio as part of squad revamp
Tottenham were one of the busiest sides in the Premier League during the January transfer window. They welcomed three signings in the form of Antonin Kinsky, Kevin Danso, and Mathys Tel to boost Ange Postecoglou’s injury-ravaged squad.
Following a difficult season, the Hotspur Way chiefs have already started putting plans in place for the summer transfer window. It is believed that they are planning to offload Son Heung-min, Richarlison and Timo Werner as a part of the squad revamp ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Son’s powers are visibly waning, and despite recently triggering a one-year extension in his contract, it is very much possible this turns out to be his final campaign in a Spurs shirt. The club are highly unlikely to turn Werner’s loan deal permanent, while there is frustration within the bosses over Richarlison’s persistent injury problems.
By potentially offloading the experienced trio in the same transfer window, Tottenham would get a lot of wriggle room to spend on fresh talent and bolster the squad.
Signing Roony Bardghji would not be easy
Despite Bardghji not playing a single minute this season due to injury, the number of suitors waiting in the wings speaks volumes about the talent he is. The Swedish attacker would be a sensational long-term investment at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, whilst aligning perfectly with Daniel Levy’s vision of recruiting young talent with high potential.
If he manages to keep himself fit after suffering an ACL injury and gets back to the levels he showed, Bardghji could become a superb signing for Spurs. However, signing him would not be straightforward.
